Here are a few pictures we took from Times Square on November 28, 2001. There are also a few pictures from the 69th annual lighting of the world's most famous Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center (we weren't close enough to get pictures). The tree is a Norway Spruce which stands 81 feet tall and is covered with about five miles of lights. The tree lighting was carried live nationally on NBC (with an additional hour of the show being carried live locally). People appearing and performing on the show included Marc Anthony, John Leguizamo, Jessica Simpson, Vanessa Williams, Tony Bennett, John Mellencamp, Destiny's Child, Glenn Close, Kevin Bacon, Jesse Martin, Molly Shannon, Sigourney Weaver, Daniel Rodriguez and the Radio City Rockettes among others. Rudy Giuliani and Laura Bush lit the tree.... |
