FAVORITE VIDEO GAMES - ARCADE GAMES

Okay, for those who don't know, arcades were a HUGE thing when I was a kid. They were dark buildings, usually only lit by the machines themselves. They had hideous carpeting and everything was sticky from the little kids spilling things everywhere. In short, they were great (well, less the little kids). Today, like the dinosaurs, they're extinct, less a rare fossil here and there...

Trying to limit the below list to my ten favorite arcade games from the 1980's was next to impossible since the list of what I loved to play was in the triple digits range. Ironically a lot of these games are easily playable today through PC emulators, the various compilation CDs released for the consoles over the years, or rebuying them on XBox Live. If you're like me, you've covered all three bases. The arcades might be dead, but the games will always live on.

When I collected game, I did own a few arcade games, Lady Bug, Mr. Do!, WWF WrestleFest, and The Main Event (I know, two wrestling games, but I was wrestling at the time, so it was a huge part of my life). I can see me buying an Ultracade for the living room some day.

To those who have XBox Live and have downloaded the Game Room, feel free to send me a friend request and play in my arcade. I have a handful of the Intellivision and Atari games below available in there.
