Bridgeport, CT - The Patriots didn't record their first hit until the top of the fifth inning when Jim Buckly singled. The Bluefish combined 5 pitchers in the 6-0 win over the Patriots. Bluefish pitching gave up just three hits in the second win of the double header while striking out five Patriot batters. Eddy Ramos got into some trouble in the third inning which made way for Bluefish lefty, Sean Fesh, who struck out Henri Stanly and forced a two-out bases loaded fly out to centerfield to keep the inning scoreless. The Bluefish got on the board in the bottom of the third inning when Willis Otanez ripped a double over the head of Patriot right-fielder Larry Barnes, bringing home Rose from second base. Steve Hine recorded his league leading 27th double in the bottom of the fourth inning and moved to third on a sac bunt from Jamie Pogue. Hine then came in on a single from Norm Hutchins tp put the Bluefish up 2-0. Otanez reached in the fifth inning and advanced on a Barry Wesson single. Damian Rolls followed with a single down the left field line, driving in Otanez from second. Pogue singled and Hutchins reached on a bunt in the sixth inning. Pogue scored from second when Bryant Nelson singled through the left side and Hutchins scored soon after when Rose grounded to second (5-0). Nelson then scored on a sac fly to make it a 6-0 ballgame. |
