Asteroids was the first cartridge to use 'bank switching', which doubled the available ROM on the cartridge.

Asteroids had 66 variations to play.

Asteroids can be found on the Atari Anthology CD available for the XBox and Playstation 2.

In the Japanese box scans, the “Atari 2800” was actually just a redesigned Atari 2600.
