King of Fighters '94 was released in both cartridge and CD. The game was 196 megs (most home games in that time period were less than 1).

King of Fighters '94 was a crossover of Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting characters. They also used some from Ikari Warriors and Psycho Soldier.

The game won the 1994 Electronic Gaming Monthly awards for best fighting game and best Neo Geo game of 1994.

King of Fighters '94 was the first game that had you select a team of three fighters, from eight different countries.

The game was the start of a very long series of releases.

King of Fighters '94 was released for the Playstation 2 as a part of the “SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1” compilation CD.
